Christmas may only be 5 days away, but it’s never too late for DIY Christmas Decor, right? …Right??
This DIY project was so much fun to make. This recipe originally came from kristinmadeinc and I just had to try it. This homemade died orange garland is super easy. It will get your home smelling absolutely delicious and bring a cozy touch to your home this holiday season.
How – To:
First, you are going to want to get some oranges (any size you would like, I used large oranges but some use small). The number of oranges you need will depend on how long you want your garland to be. This time I used 5 large oranges.
Second, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and begin slicing those oranges. Try to make your slices even and about 1/4 inches thick. The thicker they are the harder and longer it will be to get them to dry out in the oven.
Third, place the orange slices on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. Using parchment paper is essential as it will keep the oranges from sticking to the sheet. Once you place the orange slices on the pan you will want to dag them with a towel or paper towel to remove excess juice (this will help the oranges to dry faster).
Fourth, put these nicely cut orange slices in the oven for about 4 hours. Be sure to check on them often to prevent them from burning. Once the sliced oranges are dried, take them out of the oven and let them cool. Then string some twine through them and voila your garland is ready to use for decoration.
